If you have keratoconus or very high astigmatism that only can be corrected with contact lenses, you have several options from us.
The scleral lenses are large RGP lenses the size of almost soft lenses but they are raised enough so that the elevated corneal area is never touched by the material alleviating the apical abrasion that smaller diameters have. The scleral works great for large and not deep-set eyes. But if you have trouble putting them in what can you do? We can fit them with special cone lenses that are smaller and if that does not work we can piggyback them with a soft lens for comfort. We also fit lenses that are drape with soft material for improved comfort. Hybrid lenses are another option that we have in addition to the ones mentioned before.
